At the current moment in our country, the Republican party is considered the conservative and right leaning party. The faction within the party which holds the majority and is influencing party doctrine, would be Trumpism led by President Donald Trump. Generally speaking, Republicans are more inward focused as they favour Protectionism policies, Isolationism, and closed borders or limited immigration. The Republican party draws heavily on the Christian voters, such as the Evangelicals, leading to a more theocratic oriented focus.
